The Awards are given in various disciplines\/ fields of activities, viz.- art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc. \u2018Padma Vibhushan\u2019 is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; \u2018Padma Bhushan\u2019 for distinguished service of high order and \u2018Padma Shri\u2019 for distinguished service in any field.
